V-DAY
The girls helped me make the caramel for their teachers. We added a couple apples, some ribbon, and then the girls added their own card to the gifts.
For their Valentines we made little owls with pixie sticks. They did a great job putting them together all by themselves.
John's mom was visiting for the evening and made a yummy southern dinner.
FRIED CHICKEN
PEAS
CREAMED POTATOES
BISCUITS
and DEVILED EGGS

Time Out for ME!!!
This was the 3rd year that I have gone to "Time Our For Women." In the years past it has always been at Weber State. This year they changed it to the Davis Conference Center in Layton. Let me just say..."BIG MISTAKE!!!!!" I hated it being at the conference center. Here are a few reasons why. 1. no stadium seating. I was constantly moving from side to side trying to see past the big haired lady sitting in front of me. 2. Hard plastic chairs :( 3. The most annoying thing to me were the fans. They were so LOUD. I really felt like I was sitting in a freezing cold warehouse. It was never quiet and cozy. So with that being said...I actually still had a really good time. I just think they should go back to Weber State and I think most of my friends would agree. Saturday night was okay. Not my favorite part but still good. Friday night we heard from T.C. Christensen and James Ferrell. In between singers we were serenaded by Michael McLean. Not a huge fan of his new music but loved the oldies that sent me back to my college years. T.C. Christensen told some interesting facts from the movie he directed, 17 Miracles. I went with a huge group of girls from my ward. On Friday night we went to Marie Calender's for a quick dessert before heading home. Saturday we got up EARLY and headed back to the "WAREHOUSE" I was pleasantly surprised by the program and I think one of my favorite things was listening to Mercy River. They did an excellent job and I loved their outfits :) We also heard from Chris Williams who lost his wife and 3 children when they were hit by a teenage drunk driver, Sara Wells and Kate Jones who are the authors of The Sweet Bites of Motherhood, Kelly Ogden, an ancient history professor at BYU, Julie de Azevedo Hanks and therapist and LDS songwriter, and Emily Watts and editor for Deseret Book and an author of many books. It was a great excuse to take a break from the busy world and spend some time with some great friends. I'm hoping I can persude some of my friends to try a different location though next year. Thanks to Tiffany and Jami for putting the weekend together for us. It was much appreciated.
