Frontliner+Gateway=Busy Day

My friend Becca planned for us to meet them on the frontliner and spend the afternoon at Gateway. The girls loved going on the upperdeck and being on the "train." The fun didn't last very long because after about 5 minutes the famous question started. "Are we there yet?" My first thought was "Are you serious. I just spent $16.50 for you girls to have a nice long train ride and now you are wanting to be done with the train ride." But I refrained and instead said, "No we have about an hour and riding the train is supposed to be fun!!!" I love how you plan something that you think the kids are just absolutely are going to love and then they totally miss the point and are never satisfied. ANYWAY...Once we got to gateway we spent a little time in the Hansen Planitarium. Not as cool as I remember it being as a kid, but it was free so can't complain.
By that time the adults were all starving. We would have loved to have gone to a "restaurant" but none of us felt like wrestling 8 kids while trying to enjoy a nice meal so instead we compromised and headed to the food court. Brilynn and Maycie enjoyed their Sbarro pizza, I had a taco salad from Taco Time and John chose the worst thing possible, chinese food from Panda, his favorite. The one nice thing about a food court is everyone is able to get what they like.
As we were trying to decide what to do next, John and I spotted our favorite arcade game. Deal or No Deal. Have you ever played this addicting arcade game. It really is ridiculous how much we like to play it and definetly not worth the $2 but the kids get so excited when we do well and they win a ton of tickets. If anyone knows of a cheaper place to play this game...please let us know:) The girls benefited from our game playing and were able to use the tickets to get prizes. I am always amazed at the small cheap things that they love. They turned their tickets in for those small plastic candy holders that look like lipstick. Inside is a hard candy that is supposed to be the lipstick. If you don't know what I am talking about, I apologize but we loved them when we were kids and we would freeze water in them after eating the candy. Brilynn and Maycie loved these. They were the highlight of our trip. I could have brought one home from the store for them and they would have been just as happy not doing all the other fluff that we planned for the day. Crazy!!! I don't know how many times I have been asked since then if I would like some of their beautiful lipstick. You can barely see the lipstick in Maycie's hand in the next picture but maybe that will help you know what I am trying to describe and not doing a very good job

Time flew by and we had to leave earlier than Becca and her family to meet some of John's family for dinner that night. So we said our goodbyes and headed back to get on the frontrunner. We jumped aboard trax in hopes to quickly make it back to the frontliner in time. We weren't sure when the frontrunner left but we did know that on the weekends it only runs every hour. We were relieved to see that the frontrunner was still there when trax arrived. As we were juggling to get off of trax, I wanted to scream. The frontrunner was honking it's horn and pulling off. We were only about 20 yards from it. I was disappointed but John really was not thrilled. So there we were sitting at the Salt Lake train station with 4 kids and nothing to do for an hour. So here are some pics that we took during that long waiting period

The girls actually really enjoyed the ride home. It was a fun day and we loved spending time with the Johnson's We don't get to see them as often as we would like but we always have a great time with them no matter what we are doing. Thanks Becca for inviting us and planning a fun day.

We LOVE Deal or no Deal, one time in St. George my Mom won the biggest case twice! You can come to Logan and play it at our Fun Park for $1.00 J/k. Anyway, Bri said she is coming to Utah in March We should all try to get together!

I Loved those little lipsticks when I was little too! It was like the most amazing thing and I don't really know why. I need to introduce those to Reagan, she hasn't seen them yet, she will probably be just as in love.

Looks like a fun day!

What a fun day. Yes I just decided I would drive up for spring break which is March 16-20. I would love to get together. I haven't decided whether I will go to Price first or Alpine so as soon as I decide I will let you know so we could plan a get together while I am in Alpine. Let me know if there are days that would be better for you. We can see what works for Ashley as well. I am pretty flexable at this point. I can't beleive it has been that long sense we have seen each other.
