While in Vernal we went sledding at the golf course. The twins were done after a few minutes but Brilynn and Maycie would have stayed all day. We finally made them leave after about an hour and a half. They had such a good time that I decided to take the kids over to the park last week to do a little more sledding. Once again Preslee and Payge were done after a few minutes but loved it while it lasted. You can tell by the picture below that Preslee was ready to get warm. She did love going down with Brilynn and would scream "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" all the way down.

Preslee and her Shoes
No matter what size, shape, or color of shoes, Preslee loves them. She walkes around the house all the time with shoes on whether they fit her or not. If you want to see her through a fit and her face go bright red, just take away her shoes. She loves them!!!
Bomb fire or Bonfire?????
So when we decided to go to Vernal for New Years, my mom told us they were planning on doing a big "Bomb fire" at my uncles property. When I relayed the message to John he just looked at me and said "Bomb fire? What's a Bomb fire? You mean a Bonfire?" After laughing about "Bomb fire" being a Vernal thing and realizing that is what we had always called it growing up John proved to me on the computer that it is Bonfire not Bomb Fire. A few minutes later John was on the FB and started talking to my uncle. He told him that we were coming out and Craig quickly replied and said, Great, and we are having a Bomb Fire on Friday. So there was proof that I wasn't the only one that called it a Bomb Fire. Kinda funny!!! Anyway, the twins got cold really fast so we spent most the time in the Man Cave that my uncle has built on the property. That is a whole other story and I will soon do a post on that. Anyway, we enjoyed Chili, Hotdogs, Chips, Cookies, and Hot Chocolate around the Bonfire:) Payge got marshmellow all over her upper lip and was making us laugh with her smile. Brilynn had a hard time letting me take her picture because of the steam rolling off her hot chocolate. It was a fun way to start the New Year and we hope for the best in 2010
Preslee...Bring me the diaper!!!
Preslee thinks it's pretty funny to come still the diaper when I am changing Payge. She will walk by multiple times and say "ewwww, gross, uck" and then steal the diaper. This time she not only stole the diaper but made a cute little bonnet with it. I had to stop in the middle of changing the diaper to snap the picture.
Christmas Morning
We actually got a pretty late start on christmas morning. The kids slept in until about 8:30. Once they got up we did a few diaper changes and headed downstairs. I think Preslee spent the first 30 minutes just sitting in her new wagon. This was actually a gift from their Grandma and Grandpa Batty but it seemed to be a bigger hit with Preslee than the new train table from Santa. Brilynn and Maycie recieved "all the things they ever wanted" including a DS that they have actually wanted for a few years and Santa finally gave in. I guess they think they are too old for their leapsters:( Our Christmas was a little slim this year due to the fact that as a family we decided to do a trip to Disneyland instead of doing a lot of toys. So the girls were actually really surprised when they got a little more than expected. Before opening any gifts, John made all of us a yummy breakfast on my new griddle including french toast, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. Finally around 11:00 we were finally ready to start opening gifts. Preslee opened a few gifts but then was back to sitting in her wagon. Payge helped open the rest of Preslee's gifts though. This picture above makes me laugh because this is Payge's new smile when you tell her to say cheese. Brilynn and Maycie were a little disappointed that Santa didn't bring them a video camera. Thank goodness for Grandma and Grandpa Batty. Not only does it make video's but it can also be used to take pictures. Great gift!!!!After opening gifts, we got packed and headed to Idaho Falls to spend the weekend with John's sisters. On Saturday we had an amazing lunch with tons of appetizers. It was very delicous. Thanks Beth for all the yummy food! After lunch we opened all the cousins gifts and gifts from John's parents. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted because it was a little hectic but twins love to wear their little tutu's and you can never go wrong with LPS for Brilynn and Maycie
9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Memory of Christmas
So I am really sad to admit that I didn't do very well at taking pictures of the last few memories of Christmas, so you'll have to use your imagination instead. Anyway, the 9th memory of Christmas was an elf coloring book and crayons. Brilynn and Maycie spent the rest of the night coloring pictures to send to Santa Clause. The 10th memory was a trip to the dollar store to buy each other a gift. This is one of the favorites every year for Brilynn and Maycie. The funny thing is that when we are in the store they both find something that they would likefor themselves first and then make sure the other one knows what they "really really really" want for Christmas. We are trying to teach the girls about giving and not recieving at Christmas but it doesn't always work:) The 11th memory of Christmas was making gingerbread houses. Ok-well we decided to do the foam houses this year instead of the real thing. Easier for the girls to do on their own and not as messy. However, I do think we will go back to the real deal next year, I kind of missed doing the gingerbread houses. ANYWAY...the 12 memory of Christmas was a new pair of PJ's. Something that the girls know they are going to get every year but that's what a tradition is I guess. The girls are really sad that Snowflake is going to have to go back to the North Pole. I hadto call Santa and see if Snowflake could stay with us for a few extra days or else I think I would have had crying girls when Snowflake was gone on Christmas morning.
8th memory of Christmas and Maycie's Christmas Program
The 8th memory of Christmas was a trip to see Santa. We headed down to the mall and were quickly disappointed when we realized that we had waited to long to see santa. The line was crazy long. John stood in line with the kids while I did a little shopping and when I returned, the line had barely moved. After a lot of sweet talking to the kids they finally agreed that we would come back during the day and not on the weekend. Two days later Maycie had her Preschool Christmas program. The sang a lot of cute christmas songs and Maycie loved being in front of everyone. As they were singing "Here comes Santa Clause" we heard a loud "HO HO HO" and Santa came running into the room. I think I was more excited than the kids to see Santa becuase that meant...No going back to the Mall!!! I think the picture of Preslee and Payge with Santa is priceless. Payge is just happy to have a piece of candy but Preslee is showing her true character and really doesn't like Santa and isn't going to pretend.
